Default How to improve the level of metal fabrication ?

As the development of society, metal fabrication has been into another competive status. Our enterprise is only a small scale metal machining factory. We are at loss about our enterprise future. I found that the most important thing is to improve our service. About the service attitude, we can say we have done much in the past. But the most important and urgent thing is to improve our metal fabrication skill. Dear every expert in this industry, can you give us some advice about how to improve the level of metal fabrication, thanks and regards.

Hi and welcome to metalmeet.

I moved your post into a new thread, to avoid hi-jacking the other one since the topics are far away from each other.

Welcome metalguyandy:

I'm not in the metal fabrication business, but I've been in the sign business for 20+ years & self employed for 30 or so years (welder, mechanic, machinist, auto body). The business model side of most any business is the same...

Good polite service to the customers
Timely quality work at a fair price.

As far as the actual improvement of fabrication skills, there are several people here that can answer that better than I.

I guess I'd ask how long you've been in business?
What specific types of fabrication does your company do? (i.e. do you do general fabrication for individual customers or do you fill a niche market?)

More information about where the company is now and where you see it (or would like it be) down the road 5 years 10 years or beyond.

Improving skills....
1. find a master in the craft..
2. Watch and learn...
3. Do it yourself...Practice...
4. And pay attention to what the metal is doing....

Perhaps a machinist forum might have some ideas
